School Trips

Numerous visits are arranged each year in this country and abroad which range from study trips and foreign exchanges to holidays and sports tours. Several, including the Minden exchange, the ski trips to Austria and Canada, the Year 8 Language trip to La Rochelle, the Year 10 History trip to the battlefields of the 1st World War and the Lower Sixth Geography Field Trip take place annually.

Recent trips include rugby tours to Canada, cultural tours to China and to Eastern Europe, an adventure tour of South Africa, and a cruise of the Eastern Mediterranean, led by the Headmaster.

Charity Appeals

Pupils are encouraged to be involved in helping those less fortunate than themselves. Recent appeals raised over £5000 for St. Raphael’s Hospice and over £6,000 for Starlight Children’s Foundation, which aims to “brighten the lives of seriously ill children”. The Foundation was so impressed that it made the School a “flagship” for its national campaign. A year 7 class made a magnificent contribution, raising over £1000 by various means, including a sponsored book-read. A magnificent £11,000 was recently raised for “Get Kids Going”, a charity to help disabled children participate in sport. The International Evening welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of the London Borough of Sutton and several hundred parents and pupils to sample food and celebrate culture from the diverse traditions within our School.
