The Life of Galileo
Wednesday, 30th April
and Thursday, 1st May 2008.
The Drama Department is proud to announce that Wallington County Grammar Students will perform Bertolt Brecht's The Life of Galileo on the above dates.
Galileo's astonishing proof that the earth moves around the sun shatters a belief held sacred for two thousand years. Considered an enemy of humanity, he is threatened with torture and faced with a terrible choice: integrity versus intellectual sell out.
Writing on the brink of World War Two, Bertolt Brecht's The Life of Galileo offers one of the greatest plays ever written about social responsibility and the conflect between reason and faith.
