The PE department eagerly awaits the opening of the new sportshall, as does the whole school, because it will allow us to teach in a modern facility and offer opportunities to pupils to experience some new sporting activities. The value of a brand new teaching area for PE should not be underestimated as pupils will benefit from additional space and quality in their PE lessons.

In addition the department's teaching of GCSE and A level will be enhanced by the new facility and the extra opportunities it offers. We hope that new sports such as badminton, volleyball and the addition of a fitness room will add a greater breadth of curriculum PE experience to all pupils. Indoor cricket nets will allow us to improve pupil skills in this sport. In short; it is an exciting time for the subject and I know that pupils will have far more enjoyable and valuable sporting experiences when we have everything up and running. We have some fundraising activities planned to gather some extra money which will help us to kit out the sportshall in the way which we would like and to offer our pupils the very best opportunities, so please support these ventures because ultimately it is your sportshall and the more we raise the better your sportshall will be.
