Welcome to Geography at Wallington County Grammar School
Geography at WCGS is taught to all students in Year 7 and Year 8, and becomes an optional subject at both GCSE and A Level.
Geography is a popular subject at WCGS, with three GCSE classes in each year group and two AS and two A2 classes at A Level. The department aims to offer a diverse, engaging and contemporary curriculum for all students. The schemes of work for Geography draw upon a range of different learning and teaching stratergies, whilst the utillisation of additional skills such as team working and presentation is strongly encourgaged in all learners.
The Geography department helps lead the Great North trip for some Year 7 students in the Summer term, whilst the A Level class spend a week on residential in Somerset for their studies. In recent years, the Geography department has also organised trips to Barcelona, Swanage and Iceland.
